TO the ZoneBBS community.

I, along with Sister Dawn and Q have decided to resign. While I can not speak on behalf of the 2 of them, I can speak for myself as to the reasons for my resigning. First and for most is the lack of involvement by our main admin or Jage. Combined, at the time of this post, with both accounts, he has logged in only 73 times in 2009. 47 times with Jage, and 26 with the Admin account. Further is the lack of delivering on promises to both the staff, and even more importantly, the users of the site. The failure to do something with the points system, along with Alternate Universe are just 2 examples.

I have enjoyed many of the times I have spent on here. Tune Trivia, Icon, Ventrillo, zbp, and great conversation on the boards and quicknotes. I've also very much enjoyed aiding in the Zone's development over the past 5 years, as I am a forward thinking and moving person. However, given the current circumstances, which have become much more severe in the past year, I realize my time here is done. The Zone has been stuck in a rut for quite some time and now seems to be heading in to a slow downward spiral. One which, I myself, nor any other CL under the current conditions has control over.

I leave the staff not with a sense of sadness or bitterness, rather, with a sense of disappointment, and finality. Disappointment in that no further development is taking place and finality in the sense that this is a chapter which is now closing for me.

I wish nothing but the best for those currently still on staff and to those of you who eventually take our places. Again, it has been a great pleasure working and interacting with you all over the past several years, and I appreciate all of the support I've been given. I sincerely hope my gloomy outlook on this site is incorrect. Thank you for taking the time to read my ranblings!

Thanks for everything!

Scott

Hi all

After I indicated a week ago that I plan to resign, i would have thought that at least some plans would have been made by now to replace me at some point, ... and if not that, then surely I would have hoped that that I would at least get an indication as to when I could expect to become anormal user on the site.

Having said that, I have to agree with all that Scott and Alicia said above, and therefore my resignation takes effect immediately.

It was an honour for me to have served the zone, and i truly enjoyed it, and i always tried to do what's in the best interest of the zone.
Yes, there was the time when I just totally snapped at the professional, and that was a flaw on my side.
I wanna thank you all for the opportunity that I had to work with you, and I wanna wish you all well with all your endeavours.

All the best
Q

Hello, all. After much thought, I have decided to resign my position as community leader. I don't come to this decision lightly, but this is what I have decided to do.

Last Christmas, a friend of mine told me he felt the Zone was beginning to die a slow death. He said it would take awhile, but he knew enough from the people on the inside to know it was happening. I quite honestly did not believe him. I applied to become a CL in the hopes of helping the site and its community to grow and thrive. However, after being on staff for close to eight months now, I find that my friend was right. The site does indeed appear to be slowly dying, and there is nothing to be done about it. Those who have the most control simply are either unwilling, or do not have the time needed to devote to the site, and there is little we as CL's can do except maintain it daily by verifying accounts, searching for duplicates, and occasionally fixing something on the boards. The front page of the site claims, "This site is driven by its members, and we are always open to new ideas." That may once have been the truth, but does not seem to be anymore. Again, as previously stated, because those who could implement said ideas are unwilling or unable to do so. I am tired of being caught somewhere in the middle, hearing users suggestions, some of which are good, or complaints, some of which are valid, and being able to do nothing about them, and even worse, knowing that nothing will be done about them. I personally became a CL to do more than this. I have been told many stories from many people about the site in its hay day, and I had hoped to be a part of that, to assist with it. Unfortunately, that is not what is happening here.

I sincerely regret having to make this decision, but I feel it is the best one for me.

Well I being one of the oldest cls around now. Have to say that I understand their discission for leaving and I ish each and everyone of them the best. My hope is that the zone can get back on track and hopefully someday be the prosperouds place that it has always been.
If I can be of assistance in the future please let me know.
